Delete Your Account & Data

This page explains how to delete your Skrolla account and the data associated with it, whether or not you still have the app installed.

1. Delete in the app

In short: Settings → Delete account. This is instant and permanent.
  1. Open Skrolla and sign in (if you're not already signed in).
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm on the dialog that appears.

Your account and its data are deleted immediately — there is no waiting period. This can't be undone, and there is no way to recover the account afterward.

2. Request deletion without the app

In short: no app, no problem — email us and we'll delete it for you.

If you no longer have Skrolla installed, or can't sign in, email helloskrolla@gmail.com from the email address linked to your Skrolla account (or your Google account, if you signed in with Google) and ask us to delete your account. Include the display name on your account if you remember it — it helps us find the right one faster.

We'll verify the request and complete the deletion within 30 days, and confirm by email once it's done.

3. What gets deleted, and what's kept

In short: everything tied to you is deleted immediately; a small amount of non-identifying data may be kept.

Deleted immediately and permanently:

  • Your account itself (sign-in identity, display name)
  • Saved/liked books and reading lists
  • StoryMode chat history and saved story cards
  • Your personalization/taste data (what shapes your recommendations)
  • Your book-viewing history used to avoid repeating recommendations

Retained after deletion:

  • Aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics (e.g. how many people viewed a given book) that are never tied back to your account after it's gone.
  • If you submitted a book report before deleting your account, we keep the report itself for moderation and safety purposes, since it may involve other users' content — it's no longer linked to your identity once your account is deleted.
  • Anything we're legally required to retain (e.g. records needed to respond to legal process).
